Description
Cormac’s newest album is a collection of 9 new songs and 2 that have long-awaited to be recorded. “Walking with the Shadows” is a series of narratives and stories that at times resembles watching a movie. Some light hearted, some dream-like, along with the occasional rant.
“If the iconic poet Robert Frost wrote songs, they would no doubt sound a lot like Cormac McCarthy’s. Like the late poet laureate of Vermont, McCarthy paints vivid pictures with his words, with the stark New England setting as a backdrop.” – Tom Eastman, Conway Daily Sun
Recorded with long-time musical friends, it’s a real home grown project. The band is comprised of musicians he has been performing with for decades – and it was time to record with them as a band. The end result is a beautifully cohesive piece of music.
The musicians are: Sammie Haynes, Kent Allyn, Rob Kneeland, Bruce Derr, Jon Booth and Joyce Andersen.
“…a new McCarthy recording is a major listening event, one to spend considerable time savoring…” – Arthur Wood, Folk Wax
